With a squad of corporate overlords and an army of robots after him, Chai must defend himself through rhythmic combat and the help of a motley crew of allies to take down the company’s ruthless business leaders and escape. If that wasn’t enough, the company behind the experiment labels him a “defect,” making him a target for deactivation. During a technological procedure to receive a robotic arm, he finds an unexpected “bonus” when his music player is fused within his power unit. The player takes on the role of Chai, a free-spirited slacker with rockstar ambitions. Everything from the trees swaying in the environment to each hit landed during combat auto-syncs to the game’s music with stellar animations. In Hi-Fi RUSH, the entire world moves to the beat. Hi-Fi RUSH is a single-player rhythm action game from Tango Gameworks, the award-winning studio behind Ghostwire: Tokyo and The Evil Within. It remains to be seen whether Hi-Fi Rush and its cast will return for a sequel or follow-up, but given the popularity of the game, it wouldn't be surprising. The move came as a big surprise, as did its quality: Hi-Fi Rush is widely considered Xbox's best exclusive of 2023, and one of the overall best games of the year thus far. The game was revealed during an Xbox Showcase and dropped on Game Pass that very same day. Hi-Fi Rush released on Xbox and PC platforms back in January without any prior hype or build-up. Fans would probably prefer to see some kind of new story content for the game, or an expansion, but until Tango Gameworks makes an announcement, these types of extras will have to help fill the void! It seems likely that the Teamplay Costume Pack will be priced similarly after the free promotion.
That pack is currently available on the Microsoft Store, where it can be purchased for $4.99. A Bossplay Costume Pack was released for the game back in April, offering alternate looks for the heroes based on the villains. As of this writing, the Teamplay Costume Pack does not seem to be available for purchase separately.
